Is Portra UC less saturated than VC?
I must have understood the labeling incorrectly.

I am sure that the UC film is more highly saturated than the VC.
Ultra vs. Very

Raid,
VC is a vivid color :)

But anyway UC is excellent film, I like it.

Buy the way, I've chosen NC for 135mm and VC for 6x6. I should admit they both played great.

Which has higher saturation?
I have seen comments that are conflicting.

This is interesting.
Does this imply that VC is a more popular choice?

Difficult to say. People either choose by their personal visual perception or by their budget.
I realy like UC and when it seems too saturated I'm making some corrections in PS. But there was no such occasion yet :)

And with respect to Reala vs 160 NC I will choose Reala for everyday for its low price and Kodak for the shots I will keep as memories

400UC has more contrast and saturation than 100VC.
I use 400UC and HD200 (expired).

my success with Reala has been random, reala is prone to produce greenish colour cast, beautiful but unrealistic, smooth yes.

Given the fact that, at least here in the Netherlands, Kodak professional film is almost double the price of Fuji professional film without being double as good as Fuji, I prefer Fuji film (both colour neg, positive and b&w).

I hardly ever use color (and you can tell by the horrible orange truck in the background) but on a trip to Fiji last year I took some Reala after previously using only Kodak color film. I really like it because to me it isn't saturated and shows skin tones beautifully.

160VC is nice but too expensive for me. I just got some Reala at about $1/roll so it's Reala for me!

I've been using Reala, but the batch I have (which is probably expired) has a strong magenta cast to it, which kind of sucks.

I used Reala until I tried my first VC160. The results are very appealing to me in terms of color rendition and I don't find the film too saturated. As I don't shoot too much of color film anyway, the price per roll is not my main concern.

Could be a combination of things, lower demand, a shortage or increase in price of raw materials at Fujifilms, fewer players in the game now. B&H and Adorama are out of stock but Freestyle have imported Reala at $3.99/36exp. roll. I understand B&H and Adorama require a purchase discount because of their volume so when the supply is tight the retailers that have price concessions don't get film but places like Freestyle do. Freestyle is worth supporting as they are really trying to keep the pipeline open for film consumers. Here's the link to Freestyle's Reala:

Recently, I had a HU thread on Reala 24 exposure film for about $1/roll. I bought 100 rolls. It was cheap.

Dang, Raid, you're killing me ;) Good price on excellent film - enjoy it!
