It worries me that we say "everyday" and "snapshots" and so imply something. But what? I'm quite happy to use it all the time but I seldom print beyond (roughly*) 8" x 12".

Has anyone found something wrong with it that is purely caused by the film and not by exposure etc?

Its ok , if you like colour neg film.
I tend to use digital for colour .
This was shot with a Canon 50/1.8.

I've tuned out those remarks David, as all the poor results that I have seen are from user error.
I think there is a psychology at play here, driven by the mfg.'s marketing departments. If you are a pro photographer - or imagine yourself to be - cheap stuff is barely ok but you need to use the expensive stuff.

Another example, shot yesterday, using this film:

Maybe the problem is that because it is cheap people are not taking any care in their subject matter, composition, exposure etc because they automatically assume it is disposable and so do not take any care in the process?
And if that is the case, why are they then bothering?

I can recommend Snaps. I use them regularly. Great, reliable service on C41, and E6 the last time I was there.

Here is one in good sunlight, Nikon F, 85mm. Things that C200 does not do well: Underexposure, mixed lighting, and dull overcast lighting. Grain is as would be expected for an ISO 200 film.

Hi,

When I used "snapshots" was to respect those that say they will not touch this film as they perceive it as being cheap and therefore lacking quality.
That perception is far from truth as Huss pointed out and the sample I posted above shows it is still a very good film.
I like it for its qualities and character.
If Lucky Super Colour 100 film was still being produced, that's what I would use. Its pastel colours suits me.
Vista+ 200/Fuji C200 has more punchier colours.

These days, it is the only colour film I use until Ferrania comes up with new films.
And I'm looking forward to them.

Today's colour films are very good, it is just some are cheaper than others.

A note on availability: most Poundland shops were out of film after Xmas. They were waiting for the distributor to have them by mid February.
They have now new, fresh film.
My local shop in East London has just received stock dated to 03/2017.

It's a nice sharp film with lovely colors... it's propably the same film you can get in drug-stores in Germany (3 Films for under 3€)

I have several rolls in the fridge & must get using it when the light picks up.

At the bottom of my street is a pound shop but as l do not go in it l could not remember if it was a Poundland, or everything is a pound, l live in a Victorian town house just off the main street, not a posh shop but very handy for the shops, anyway l digress, on reading this thread l ran the 200 yards to the bottom of my street and low and behold ....its a Poundland, 'get on with it', l hear you shout, well a bit of a search and low and behold tucked away a bunch of 35mm film......and so l bought some to try out with my newly arrived Leitz Summar........this could produce some interesting shots l will let you know how l get on

Last time I was in Edinburgh a pint was at London prices too.
I still haven`t recovered from the 80 shilling heavy at the Diggers 🙂

Blackpool must be an amazing place to shoot, all the trams and bright lights, the Tower etc

Lovely shot with really nice tones. Taken as can be quite clearly seen in muted light.

People, I think it is quite obvious now that this stuff is great. Buy it while you can still get it so cheap!
