There is a notch on every frame from my newly acquired TX1. Is this normal or should I be worried? Thanks
This is a scan of the side of the frame.

I have a TX-2 and an XPan-2 and I have never seen anything like it. Where is it on the frame?
In any case, if it takes good pictures otherwise, then you have no problem.

Ive seen a notch and heard it talked about among xpan users on Flikr and some other places... Not sure what the difference is.. if any.

it is normal
Lots of cameras have that, in different configurations. Hexar AF has its own "notch" , curved from what I remember. My xpan has it. Sometimes folks would PUT a notch or notches with a file, different for each body. That way you always knew what body produced the image.

It's friday!
My Xpan has the notch too. But only in panorma format.
On a 200/500 Hasselblad back, there's always 2 notches in the middle of the left hand side.

I use to contribute to an XPAN dedicated website mainly in french (xpan.free.fr) and all of ours pictures have this notch. I will ask colleagues then feedback.
would it be due to a geographical batch delivery?

This notch is normal.
All my pano frames from Xpan I have this.
Usefull to identify the right from left when I scan Xpan neg.
This notch must be at upper right .
For the OP, your "notch scan" is at left = so it's flipped.

its not just on the x-pan but all Hasselblads to my knowledge. The 6x6 cameras have two notches on the left if my memory is correct

If I remember it well Hexar RF has the similar notch as well.

The notches are remembering the "V" in Victor Hasselblad - imho all* Hasselblad film mags have them. It´s a type of "branding" .its not just on the x-pan but all Hasselblads to my knowledge. The 6x6 cameras have two notches on the left if my memory is correct
Some photographers enlarge their pics always in a way you can see this "V" .
* even the mags of the new H-Series !
