Fuji x 100

When shooting with my x100 the dpi is 72 and not 300, is this a sensor size issue or is it something the needs to be changed in photoshop.Magazines are asking for a 300 dpi or better . Any suggestions would be better. I do have have accesses to a full frame DSLR but like shooting with a smaller camera like the x100.

Change the dpi to 300 in any image editing software; the size of the image (width x height) will change but not the amount of information contained in the image. The "quality" will be the same. The same number of pixels will be present, just more condensed.

Is this in regards to JPGs? Every jpg image comes as pixel x pixel (your camera's mega pixel size) @ 72 dpi.
Go to image size in photoshop, uncheck sampling, and change the dpi to 300.

Actually, the OP's original question presents a misunderstanding that goes on and on: dpi is dots per inch, as it relates to dots of ink on paper; ppi is pixels per inch which indicates file resolution.

Sorry for being pedantic, but I teach this stuff and feel compelled to get folks to recognize the correct terminology.
