Looked at a pre-production unit at my local camera store. AF seemed faster than X100. Viewfinder wasn't very good. Build quality felt very solid. No comment on IQ.

DP Review have a Preview report out. Seems reasonably comprehensive, favourable and no surprises. Some of the member comments reflect the usual "why didn't they..." and disappointment that the IQ isn't up to MF Leaf standard, but that's normal. From what I've been able to see on my screen it seems the IQ up to 8x10 output is perfectly acceptable and about as good as you'd get from medium speed 35mm (Full Frame) film but if you enlarge further then the sharpness suffers a little. That's not bad from a relatively small sensor.
I think my GF1 does better (as you might expect) and my Rolleiflex better again. But then you start to pay for that in increased bulk (and weight with the Rollei!)
Still, the real proof is when it's in the hand. Orders here are due to start rolling out in three weeks.

A fair number of pics are showing up on Flikr and in blogs, too. I was impressed enough to order one sight unseen which is unusual for me - it should be here next week.

The Phoblographer has a "hands-on" review:

Sort of useless IMO. Poorly written, bad photos, but you might glean something from it.

Thanks, learned from it X10 has 28-112 zoom lens. Heck, I have always preferred 111mm at long end

Does it have live view where you can see a live histogram?

Answer is yes, but why don't you download the X10_01 catalogue pdf from the Fuji site and you'll find out a lot more?

These things are already out Tokyo, I believe. But the price is like 69k yen! More expensive than on Amazon. I don't get that pricing. Why more expensive here in Japan?

Just read the DP Review preview, and liked what I saw. If it's better than my TZ-3 (which, how could it not be), I'd be happy to give up a little bit on the long end to have a decent viewfinder to look through, plus the manual controls are a welcome addition. I'm tired of trying to take macro shots when the camera can't find the subject to focus on.

This is the only thread I could find for the X10, so why not revive it, now that I've been using one!
Here's some of my faves from the last few weeks, all of them are JPGs from the camera, as Aperture does not yet support the X10's RAW format:

Doesn't seem to have made the cut for OSX 10.7.3 either

Damn. I went with Aperture, because I had giant iPhoto libraries, but maybe I should have gone with Lightroom...
