Today I unknowingly pushed the "Delete / Drive" option button at the top of the command dial.
I did not even know of the "drive options" associated with this button - I thought it was the trashcan button.

Unaware of this all I saw was the camera was firing 2 to 6 shots every time I pushed the shutter button, and it took time to write the files to the SD card.
I went absolutely nuts cycling through the Shooting and Setup menus looking for what I had done, looking for a "continuous shooting" mode. Also thought the AF-c switch was being weird . . . . no luck.

Anyway . . . are there any options to disable this "drive" feature on that button ? Or lock the camera into "Still Image" mode ?
As it is now, I feel that I must check this setting before every image, because it is so easy to hit that button without realizing it.

(The situation today was very embarrassing, having people standing waiting for me to fiddle with the camera - - about 15 minutes and some harsh words).

If you hold the button in the middle for a few seconds, it will lock all of the command dial buttons like flash and macro mode. There's no way to disable just one of them. Best solution to your problem is one of those Thumbs up grips, it will move your thumb away from hitting those buttons.

The first firmware update was said to offer the ability to 'rock' the command dial. Continuous shooting is the first option in the command dial activated shooting options. What they meant was 'lock' the command dial as described above. Very useful.

Okay, thanks for the answers.

Normally I have the user manual in my bag but taking the X100 yesterday was a snap decision and rushed out.
I do have a thumb grip. But looking how I handle the camera, it's when I first pick up the camera that I must've hit that button.

Love the camera. Hate that dial thing.

Going to scan the user manual to jpg's and put them on the SD drive.
