Ok, I finally got the X100. I tried many digital cameras (EP1, the NEX5, the D3100) and I couldn't find any that I loved shooting with. But coming from the Leica IIIg, Zeiss Ikon and FM3a, it's hard to find a decent digital counterpart. Obviously the M9 was out of reach...

So ! I got my X100 with the filter adapter on which I put a slim UV filter. One extra battery and I was good to go. The camera feels solid but it is still light and compact ! I wandered in NYC with the camera this weekend. I used it under various situations and I was very pleased by the results. My only complain would be the clumsy AF in close focus mode and low light. Aside from that, everything is nice ! The JPGs out of the box are great !

Here are a few shots !

congrats, and very nice shots. i just this weekend traded my 5d and AF lens for an x100. best thing i couldve done, as the x100 IQ is comparable to the 5d + zeiss planar T* lenses. in very low light at iso 16-3200 the x100 beats the 5d hands down. i have had no focus problems as i leave it in MF mode and use the AFL button to focus, then close in low light i can zoom in with the top lever and easily hand focus. one of the best cameras, if not the best, ive ever used. i do wish it were a little heavier with a metal frame like the olly ep series, but thats really nit picking.... i look forward to more of your work with it!
