Fuji X70 Kaizen Firmware Feature Request

OK all you X70 users out there, what do you think about this idea:

I would like to assign a function button to the following

Focus the lens at 3 feet
Focus the lens at 5 feet
Focus the lens at 12 feet
Focus the lens at 21 feet

I'm not sure if Ricoh has a patent on their approach, but we could assign them to each button of the 4-way controller. Should be an easy update, perhaps it could go for the X-E family too.....

What do you think?

i think Ricoh has that on lockdown with the "snap focus" feature. if they don't, it's bewildering to me why other manufacturers wouldn't be using it. it's brilliant.

My Ricoh has been under the weather for a few years so I'm not sure if I remember it right. But I think they cycle through three points (1, 1.5, 3 meters) when pressing a button. By assigning a point to a button (not cycling through) it should avoid stepping on patents.

If that showed up on any Fuji camera and you could assign any 4 distances, I'd sure be using it.

OK, so if you can assign a button to a specific distance, what about ISO setting?

If you could flip between two ISOs that were assigned to specific buttons?

Thoughts anyone?

I love the idea. Right now, I leave the camera on manual focus and 'snap' the distance by pointing the camera at something located at the distance I want and pushing the AE button.
