OK I had arrive in the post this wk an AX1 with a 55 f1.6, Its a great little camera. Since she arrived I have also got an AX3 and an STX1
, though the latter seems from the description a dud meter. The lens on this seems a little cracker, all the photographs look good and it feels good. So who else here loves the Fujica 35mm lines?

I had an ST801 with a bunch of great lenses ranging from 28 up to 135mm and the system was fantastic. Sold it all 3 summers ago when I needed some cash.

I've got a ST605N I bought cheaply a few years ago. The viewfinder is really bright, and the camera has a wonderful focus screen with split, and a snappy prism. I think they're underrated cameras. I also have a 35-EE rangefinder I'm quite fond of, although I don't use it as often as I should.

Resurrecting this thread for some more Fujica love. I bought a chrome AX-3 a while back from ShopGoodwill and really liked it, especially the 50mm f/1.6 DM that came with it. After shooting with it for months, I decided that I needed a second body as a backup and it would be good to have one loaded with color and one with black and white. I trolled ShopGoodwill again and found another AX-3 in black with the 50mm f/1.6 DM in like new condition, it just needs new light seals.
The 50mm f/1.6 DM supposedly has the electron beam coating. It's very sharp and has a lot of contrast. I absolutely love it.

nice pics. As far as it goes with compressed webpics, the lens seems very nice. I don't know these cameras, so got no love for them, but this thread spurred me to look them up. A few AX1s on fleabay UK, but not a lot of info out there. what do like about them? Only the lenses or is the camera itself nice to use?

I like the handling of the AX-3 quite a bit; the controls fit my hand very well. It's got a DOF preview button, which is handy. The throw of the film advance lever isn't very long, so I can shoot pretty quickly with it. They're pretty dang cheap, too. I got both of mine for less than $30 each including shipping. The lenses are a real draw, too, but they're a bit harder to find. I'm on the lookout for a wide angle Fujinon-X lens, probably the 28 f/2.8. Most of the time I can find the Fujinar lenses, but they don't seem to be as good.
They're also pretty small. Here's my chrome one next to my Fed-2.

+1 on all of the above. I have an ST701 and an ST605. They are small and light and have the advantage that they can use a wide variety of M42 lenses. At the time that I bought them they were less than $30 each. I don't use them as often as I should.

Nice cameras -- very well made, and fine lenses as we all know.

i've got a 605 that needs a cla. the shutter caps sometimes. neat little camera. i need to get it fixed so i can use my 400mm/f6.3 screwmount lens ...
Here is an extensive list of most Fujinon X-Mount lenses (the late bayonet type, not the M42s).

The system isnt popular today (or maybe never was back then) but the lenses are fine. Light and compact so you can carry a whole bunch - 24, 35, 50 - in your jacket. The 50/1.2 is as good as it gets and a real sleeper.

Oh man, I wonder if he found a Fujica X-mount adapter or if he had to use a combination of adapters to get it to work on that NEX-5. I'd love to be able to do that with my lenses on my 5N.

I would love an 801 ... nothing else would do for me.

There are adapters. Search for "Fujinon NEX" on the big auction site.

Awesome! I kept searching for Fujica, not Fujinon! Thank you, thank you!

I just spent an hour cleaning some massively gooey foam out of my ST-801. Tomorrow morning it gets new foam, and hopefully I can figure out why its metering 5 stops too low while I'm at it.
