Fujifillm Klasse problem

Hi all,
While I was shooting my Klasse on holiday, it stopped taking pictures on frame 4 of the film. I assumed it was the battery going dead. I've got it home now with a new battery in it. However it's sticking on frame 4, even though I've sacrificed the film that was in it, and inserted another.

Normally on inserting a film, the Klasse will automatically spool it up on closing of the back, it's not doing that, it's still saying frame 4, and flashing the self-timer symbol on the LCD.

I tried leaving it with the battery out overnight, but same thing. Not sure what's going on here, but how can I reset this thing? I've used a pen to push the rewind button, pushed the other few buttons on it, but it's basically acting dead other than flashing some symbols on the LCD, and it extends the lens when I turn it on, and detracts it when I turn it off.

Ideas?

Given that this is most probably and electronics-issue and also as there are nearly no users of this camera outside of Japan I guess you have no other option than send it to Fuji for a repair 😱

On the positive side - you could maybe share a bit of info about this camera and about the results one is able to produce with it.

Hmm, that does not sound good, I'll dig out the box and stuff, see if it's under warranty still.

I can't help but think there is some way to reset it back to factory settings, it still says "4" in the digital frame count, so it's clearly storing some information which could be wiped out.

I really like the Klasse, my only real beef with it (apart from this) is I don't know how to disable the flash so it's forced off until I decide otherwise, it always defaults to auto-flash when it's turned on. It works nicely, pretty simple to use, results are pretty nice I think. The attached shot is Provia 400X, I've not actually got many shots with the Klasse which are not of friends/family, and generally they would not appreciate being posted here.

I shot some Superia 1600 too, the IQ was on a par with a Panny GF-1 at 1600 ISO, says something I think.

So yes, lovely camera, a pleasure to use, but maybe all that electronics will be it's downfall.

Still holding out for a fix without sending it off though...

Got back the one and only roll I managed to run through the Klasse before it gave up on me, these are all Portra 400 NC from San Francisco and Hawaii.

I think the Klasse gives stellar results, the lens is very sharp, seemingly impervious to flare, and it can even do bulb mode if you navigate the menu options. Really impressed with the Portra 400 too, never shot it before (only 800 and 160) and it's so fine grained for a film of this speed, makes the Superia 400 I shot look a bit cruddy.
