hello everyone,
Just want to know if anyone has compared these two fast lens P&S before? Anyone???
Fujifilm Natura S - 24mm 1:1.9
Canon AF35ML - 40mm 1:1.9
Both are full automatic p&s with fast lens.

I have the canon. I just put new light seals in it on Saturday. The Canon will only meter up to 400 speed film. The Natura will do 1600 (Or higher)? I also do not see how you can compare them. I would like to see the photographs from both however.

Yes some older 35ML only went up to 400, but mine (2 of them) can go up to 1000. The image quality of the canon is comparable to the Oly MJUII, but the lens is alot faster. I'm thinking of getting fuji, but see if anyone has both of them and what they think about the two side by side!

Is there any way to tell if the camera will meter up to 1000 other than turning the dial. Like a special marking on the camera to let you know it has the higher speed? (If one was to look at a ebay photo for instance)

No, I used to have the 400 version, and could not tell the diff. from the the 1000 version except you have to actually turn the asa dial to findout.

There is no comparison here; the Canon has a very slow AF system.

I have both of them, but I am still waiting to get back my first roll with the Natura developed. Overall, the Canon 2.8 lens is sharper than the 1.9 lens. I forgot the actual name of the Canon P&S camera with the 2.8 lens. Also, both my brother and I have the Canon with the 1.9 and the 2.8 lens, and in both cases the one with the 1.9 suddenly stopped functioning whereas the ones with the 2.8 are still fine. The Natura is a much better built camera with a huge LCD screen and an awesome Fuji 24mm lens.

I agree, the Autoboy (or Sureshot) with 2.8 is a lot sharper sometimes (not all the time
) , I do have the both of the canon's. Could you post the pix from your Natura once you have it?

No problem; I will post as many photos as I can without boring people with photos of my children.
