personally, the 0.62x finder is a huge disappointment. i wish they had made this the rangefinder-styled alternative to the X-T2. oh well. lot's of other brilliant cameras out there. 🙂

No disapointment here.
After years of only seeking higher magnification vf's, I've come to appreciete the lower mag for wider lenses.
Fuji has options at wider and closer mag vf. That too is great for the system.
I'll be pairing the xe3 with a 27mm mostly.... x.62 will be super.

A 27mm lens as standard sounds very promising. A modern Leica CL.

Looks nice but a pity it doesn't have a tilting screen like the X-T20. I find that feature really useful.

i never use the tilting screen on my xt20...so wont miss it.
i am excited about getting a 3...thinking about mating it with the 23/35/50...f2 lenses for a small, lightweight kit.
now to sell off the xt20...great camera, can't get really comfy with it.

Would you have paid XT2 prices?
And if you guys want a tilting screen... Fuji relegates that to its XT series at this price point. The XE and XPro series are more purist options.

i would have paid the X-T2 price for an X-E3 with .77x mag and weather sealing, and all of the other X-T2 accoutrements.

I'm personally not a huge fan of tilting screens, so this isn't an omission that bothers me. I can see ending up with one as a mate for my XP2.

I think of the X-E(x) series as an essential documentary tool. A bag with the three f/2 lenses (23,35 & 50 mm) and body or two. The small kit doesn't weight much and is easy to squeeze through those tight spots in a crowd. And the camera on a wrist-strap doesn't get lost. The E3 looks to be a just another good solid camera body for just this sort of scene.
PS I might throw the 18mm in there on occasion. 🙂

Good...I figured you would have, but would it make sense for Fuji to have 3 cameras priced the same?

The missing built in tiltable flash from the previous xe/1/2/2s is a sad loss.
Was the first built in flash I found actually very usable.
Flash use for me was a matter of extending the chance for a photograph where otherwise there may not have been one.
I'm not one to carry a flash so.... those opportunities will now be lost without having one built in.
Otherwise it looks like a hit out of the park for manynof us.
That said, I'll go on record and bet this is a poor seller overall for fuji.... there will be discounted sales after christmas as it stalls after passing the first turn out of the gate.

I see very little other than the sensor to warrant an upgrade.
