Fujifilm X100 -- High ISO pictures

All of those are contrasty files with the darks pulled down. The 12800 x100 sample with the cup is a flat file. Pull down the darks and it will look the same.

Care to try the M9! I like that comment!

This comment makes me think. Here we have a camera that costs a fraction of the M9 and delivers much better High ISO if these samples are to be believed.

Now why cant Leica offer a body with lower MP and superior high ISO? You really have to ask the value of the digital M bodies. The lenses are a different story. I paid alot for a Noctilux and do not regret it and feel it has great value. If Fuji produces a full frame model with an M mount, Im in to buy it!!!!!

Can anyone with more knowledge take a look at the noise and comment on the quality of it.

Some cameras seem to have more pleasant noise pattern that gives something of a grainy effect vs a processed digital effect.

Hopefully, Leica can, in the M10, work with a sensor that is a bit more up to date in technology. Don't get me wrong....I think it's great. But the noise at even 2500 is nasty compared to a cheap DSLR 1/10 the cost. I get better results from my wife's Pentax K-x at 6400 than the M9 at 2500.....at less than 1/10 the cost. Different experience mind you, but you get get the point.

The X100 is a welcome addition!

There's good odds, I think, we're finally getting passed the megapixels these days and low-noise/high-iso seems to be the next playground...
