Mike,
When I view your pictures, I feel like I have been on an exotic vacation in Japan. Please keep posting.
Thank you, Alfasud, here are a few pictures I took the day before yesterday at Miyajima Island just off the coast of Hiroshima.
You have to take a ferry to get to the island.
Some visitors dressed nicely in Kimonos.
The world famous Itsukushima shrine torii gate is under construction.
There are small dear all over the island. They are very friendly and don't mind if you pet them.
They get right in your face.

Joe: I find this an intriguing photo but would really like some context to put it into perspective beyond the "nice photo" phase.

she is a vendor at the local farmer's market...I was talking to her and then asked if I could take a photo of her explaining that I liked her 'look'...the head scarf plus the face mask triggered me... reminding me how much I hate masks and this damn pandemic...

Beautiful shot Joe....
i am soooo bored with most people's 'mask' shots...so pedestrian
but this has a great sense of 'character', futility and beauty
Well done ~

Misasa Onsen (Hot Spring)
Misasa Onsen is a beautiful little town in Tottori prefecture, Japan. We spent the night here and in the morning we went out for a walk around the town.
A bridge over the Mitoku River.
The Mitoku river runs through the middle of the town.
On the side of the river is the famous Kawara-buro public bath. It was used in the movie "Themae Romae".
A different view of Kawara-buro. This bath is in plain view of anyone crossing the bridge and it is usually full of people.

Wife is checking her town map as we explore the town.
The roads are narrow and interesting. A town that was established before cars were invented.
Hot spring water runs freely 24/7 in the center of town. It fills a foot bath that is open for all to enjoy.
A rice field on the edge of town. Rice has been cropped and is hanging to dry.

Absolutely love your captures, Mike! How do you like the V so far as to low light and high iso captures? I ended up selling the X100F in favour of the RX1Rii (different concepts, I know) mainly for how much better the RX1Rii renders low light (same as the A7Rii basically). But usability wise the X100 series to me is hard to beat.
