The thing about visiting anywhere in Japan is that it's inevitable that going up and down a steep set of steps will be involved.

Taemo, Mohammed and Mike-

These are beautiful colors and images in this thread. It's been years since I sold my X100S but an X100V not too mysteriously arrived today. I will need to upgrade to convert RAF but seeing these above I am tempted to drag my heels on the upgrade and be good with JPEGs.

Great Portrait 'DWF'

Up close and Personal, Wonderful .

Thank you Helen!

I guess it represents the maiden voyage with this almost-new and really nice camera. My son is quite passionate about photography so I headed to his place shortly after it arrived. He quickly dragged me to the room and window in his house where the light was best and after shooting a few frames sat for this picture :)

Hi Mike,

I certainly appreciate your warm welcome and will for sure post here. You are obviously enjoying your X100V and it judging by posts I am seeing here, it is a good fit for you.
Some images stand out more than others and your picture of the boat coming in is a case in point here, both for the color of the boats against the landscape and the nice texture of the gentle wake made by the boat approaching.

My best,
David

I have been messing with film simulation recipes and thought I had one programed for Acros G when I made this exposure. Turns out, I screwed up saving and so this was factory simulation Acros Y. In PP I only slightly tweaked the highlight.

Thanks for your encouragement Mike. I like that you are in-close with your subject here, and fabulous color. The skin tone and the pink apron and yellow straps are really distinct!

Out for "booted" Margaritas in "outside seating" I never expected my friend's son to show up with a Polaroid! These should probably be posted to "Shooting the Shooter".

My own recipe for AcrosG and we were all mostly masked when not imbibing!

Cheers,
David
