Saw that... Might they have released the XE-2 earlier because they are trying to cram FF in the XPRO-2? I hope so!

If x200 is a ff.. U know that xp2 is gonna be ff... If they follow what they did w/ the x100. That was their market test vehicle.

If the only upgrade to the Xpro-2 was the 100s style focusing (and a few more mp)....meh. The A7's really turned up the heat.

Interesting. I don't necessarily see it being a replacement for the X100s since that just came out.
But I'm interested how Fuji might approach full-frame, considering their current lens lineup is only a few years old. Nikon and Canon had the EF-S and DX lenses for quite a while before offering full-frame bodies, and at least with my D3 there's some backwards (forwards?) compatibility there.

Going just a bit off-OP, the current Fuji XF lenses only cover an APS-C sized sensor, correct? So if they do indeed come out with a full-frame X-Pro body, the current XF lenses would not be compatible, correct?

Some may cover full frame well enough.
I handheld the 1.4/35 up to my 5Dii flange.
It was in Macro range and wide open but, the corners were illuminated even if a bit soft.
Not a scientific test. I was just curious to see how much the lens could cover.

Full frame X200 eh....weird how things go.. now everyone seems to be gunning for Sony 🙂

If I remember correctly, when the Sony rx1 was announced and the press was asking the Fuji product manager about their plans w/ ff, he let it slip that some of their lenses should work w/ ff sensor...
It was vague enough to be interpreted as dx mode like Nikon or actually no issues.
I am pretty happy w/ what I have in their apsc offering myself. If I ever bought a ff camera it maybe more to replace a camera such as
- this x200 when my x100 finally gives up the ghost
- the xp2 or a7 when my gxr is on its last legs (where I use my legacy rf lenses)
The type of pics I take really does not require ff.. The xe2 or xp2 is really more about an eventual upgrade path from my xp1/xe1 gear. If I bought a xp2, I may just ended up using my existing xf lenses on it on the af lens side and retire the gxr for the rf lenses so long as my most used lenses (24/35/40/50) have no issues.
Right now Sony and Fuji are pushing the envelop the hardest IMHO. Nikon and canon.. Are really gonna have to up their game eventually..

BTW I would love the x200 in a fixed lens.
Having a bit more subject isolation capability and less perspective distortion for the same field of view would be fantastic (as compared to the 23mm on the current x100 ).
Fixed lens is my preference.
The OVF/EVF combo of the current camera with an actual 35mm lens and leaf shutter. ooh baby that would be great.
Bring out a 50mm and 90mm version too! (dreaming).
Leaf shutter cameras are it for me. I would give up lens changing ability to have that silent low motion shutter and fast sync speed!

I will agree to an extent Gary.
Nikon and Canon should really never have tread into the "mirrorless" waters in the first place in my opinion. I recognize that it's "too late" and they've already done so but they really should just stick to their DSLR market but corporations, well, in general, they're greedy. So they want a piece of that sweet sweet mirrorless pie.... so they put something out there in a half-a$$ed manner just so they can say they got their foot in the door.
Nikon and Canon should have just left well enough alone. Fuji and Sony with Olympus and, I guess, Panasonic will rule this domain.

It could be possible that Fuji will put a full frame sensor in the X200 and X-Pro2 and keep the X-E2 and lower models for APS-C. Then bring out a new line of lenses for the FF models. That's effectively what Sony just did.

I have a working Contaflex I (1st Version w/ older Shutter Speed Scale), with a 45mm f/2.8 Tessar and a 1/500 top speed... Though it is working, (from 1/30s to 1/500s), there is some fungus in the left lower corner the Pentaprism and needs a replacement... but, still usable.
That's all Contax made for their SLRs until the Contarax
(Leaf Shutter SLRs)
I hope it priced well below the RX1 !!!!
Maybe $1700 ??

I may have similar thoughts in a different thread when I said that I felt Fuji was holding back on the xp2 to gauge what is going on w/ the Sony ff announcement. But that thread was mainly talking about the xe2 vs xp2 future.. If the x200 ends up reality, I believe u will most likely be correct.

A FF X200 has to come in noticably larger than the X100/s.

That (if correct) puts it in a very different niche than the X100, in terms of carrying it around town.

No, you're not alone. I'm with you in that view.
I'm using a Hexar AF now for film and find it just about perfect.
It's very close to the xpro1 size (M6ish).
The slightly wider spread on controls would benefit the x100 or future x200.
