Fujifilm X200 rumor...

If we keep hearing some good XPro2 FF rumors, I could care less about the new Sonys.

But isn't this the problem? The A7/A7R are reality, which is very different.

A cracking 24-28MP APSC sensor from Fuji would go down very nicely, considering the quality of their lenses. Even if the X200 is FF, it might be another 6+ months before an interchangeable lens model, so still a long wait for some (if not you).

Well x200 rumors have started. Sometime in 2014, my guess if any of this is real, probably around photokina we could hear more info on it.

Right now I doubt the ff portion of the rumor given Fuji has already said no ff in immediate future.

I haven't seen anything that even suggests that Fuji wants a full frame X model. When they first released the X-Pro, they were comparing the image quality to the 5d2 (Canon's top of the line at the time). They have repeatedly said that they don't think they need to go full frame.

Why, after building the X-series, would fuji abandon the entire lens lineup? Unless you're Sony, camera companies do not develop lines of cameras with reckless abandon. Fuji's made a long-term bet that APS-C is the sweet spot for size.

Fuji is a huge imaging company. The idea that they did not consider the possibility of going full frame is silly. If they were to release a full frame camera, it would go against all their statements so far.

I owned both together and preferred the IQ of the X-Pro1. Of course the 5d II has many advantages, but I sold it after comparing it to the X-Pro1. Sold a M9 too. I guess FF frame wasn't as important to me once there were great primes for APS-C.

I agree with your thinking here. I also think that the concept of "full frame", is purely marketing. What would I get with a full frame 35 mm lens that I wouldn't get with with the X100? A bigger, heavier, more expensive camera and then I could print mural size instead of poster size. When was the last time most people printed digital files anyway? I sometimes think we have lost our sense of what's important here but maybe I've missed something?

Agreed again. The dream is smallest size with the best quality. Full frame makes sense for DSLR's and a studio/landscape/architectural applications (thinking tripods etc here). For everything else, Aps-c seems to fit the bill very well. Perhaps 4/3 too, but I have no experience with those cameras.

My .2 cents? Full frame: irrelevant as long as the low light results are ok, faster af: sounds good although I personally think that an updated x100 is just fine, 24MP: irrelevant, tilting screen: h*ll no... Why? I never use a camera bag with my x100, I just toss it into my shoulder bag and the tilting screen is just one more thing that might break.

On the other hand: if this leads into them making a FF ILC I'm all for it, I have nice Leica and Olympus glass I'd like to use on that. I just can't see that happening as it would render their current selection of lenses obsolete.

Not interested in Fuji's line up, however have enjoyed reading another rumour thread.
On a side note - didn't Fuji say they weren't going to go FF for their interchangeable lens line up? (For the reasons cited above).
FF as an option makes a lot of sense and as the X200 is fixed lens...
Also remember that like most other companies, Fuji can be economical with the truth.
