Hi,
I own a Nikon Coolscan IV ED.
I would like to scan my negs in full frame including a part of the negative frame to get a thin black line ( I hope you understand what i mean).
My solution is to remove the black plastic part of the film holder but it's really annoying ti use. The film is moving in the holder,...
Do you know if Nikon has in his accessories a special film holder to get this effect ?
Thanks.
Michael.

Wouldn't it be easier to create a frame in Photoshop?

Hi Jaap,
Of course I often create frames with Photoshop but they look fake compare with a true black border. Don't you think.
Well, I see that there's no solution, even Nikon's employees have no solution for me.
Thanks.

Can't you file down the neg holder? I do that with my Epson 2450 neg holders. I just took an exacto knife and slice a bit off and then filed it.

You're right, I'll try. Maybe I was too lazy to do it on every six holes of the neg holder
If the result is the same as pictures that I saw in your gallery, that's exactly what I'm looking for.
Thanks.

Funny thing is, Minolta seems to have this as a standard, I'm forever cropping those frames.....
Maybe we should swap scanners.

Thanks a lot for this information.

I'd just file one and see how it works before filing them all
