There was a time when Mt. Fuji loomed large on the Yokohama skyline. As passengers on steam ships approached Yokohama Bay they would see the majestic sight of Mt. Fuji and would know without doubt that they had arrived in Japan. Now, with all the tall buildings on the waterfront blocking the view, catching a glimpse of Mt. Fuji has almost become a novelty game like “Where’s Waldo”. Can you spot Mt. Fuji?

Yokohama Marine Tower​

I was zooming in on the rivets that hold the tower together to see how much detail the 50mp sensor was giving me. It was then that I noticed something on the right side of the tower about 3/4 down from the top. What originally looked like a speck of dust on my screen turned out to be an airplane. These two images have been considerably reduced in size to facilitate posting here on RFF. The details of the original high-resolution images are pretty impressive.

North Dock Management: U.S. Army Facility Management Headquarters in Japan, U.S. Navy Yokosuka Base Command in Japan
This facility is used by the 836 US Army Transport Battalion, the U.S. Navy Yokosuka Supply Center in Japan, and the Japan Area Shipship Support Corps.
In the Wharf area, there are large and small ship marine berths, field yards, warehouses, etc., where goods are transported in and out and freight transportation is carried out when military personnel move/transfer.
There is a postal area that provides postal services related to the US Navy from the Far East to Persian Bay.
In addition, the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force uses approximately 1,870 square meters of buildings jointly.
