Well, the XCD 65mm is almost exactly the same diagonal FoV as a 50mm on 35FF format, so it's a great normal lens for this format. I'm debating between that, the ultra-fast 80/1.9 or the 90/4 as my third XCD lens. That 80 is very tempting, although a bit heavy. No reason to rush... 🙂
To post photos here, I use my Flickr.com account as an image server. Upload to there, then use their tools to get a BBCode string with all the right bits in it for posting to most bulletin board servers. I then usually edit the BBCode string to get rid of the unneeded bits and add annotation as I want. It sounds more complicated than it is to do:
For this image https://flic.kr/p/2jEGkqP ... Use the share tool to bring up the selection dialog. Click "BBCode" option. Then set the size (usually 1600 pixels on the long edge is what I use now). Copy the BBCode string and paste it here:
(I've replaced square-brackets "[]" with curly-braces "{}" to prevent the list server translating the string into display code.)
My edit usually gets rid of the unnecessary second title string and link as well as my name string, adds technical info, and centers the image:

Vince I have a similar project I want to start, in part inspired by you. I recently got my family owned contax lla serviced and figured B/W portraits of locals would be a good task for it.
However...the contax came back from service with a light leak and is still out. I I don't think masks give me the look I want.

Yes thanks - it’s actually been a pretty busy year, work-wise. Glad to be able to incorporate the use of the 907x with some commercial work.

I just picked up a sweetheart lens this week -- one of those KEH 'as is' specials. For me it's always a crap-shoot with any of their 'as is' rated equipment (which is basically their ‘bottom of the barrel’) - sometimes a gem, other times a dog. This time was a gem 🙂

It's a 60mm f/4 Distagon - they only made 1900 of them in 1962, so it's a really rare lens (even by Leica standards that would be rare indeed!). It's quite beautiful and clean and actually it's a lot nicer than many of the $1600 eBay offerings of the same lens, but I'm going to send it to the Camera Wiz for the full going-over anyway. Not sure if I'm going to keep it or not -- it's tempting!

Vince, You're doing a great job making photographs with the 907x! Bravo! I'm enjoying your environmental portraits in particular ... very nice!
I fitted my Summicron-R 90mm f/2 to the 907x yesterday and did some preliminary tests. AHHH! It looks like this lens covers the full format beautifully, and even with the lens hood extended! One of my very favorite lenses, a real Mandler original design. I'll have to go for a walk with it today. 🙂

Many thanks - I'm going to be in New Mexico (hopefully!) for the month of January for an artist-in-residence program, so I hope to have many more opportunities for environmental portraits there (I'll be using the 907x alongside my Nikon Z7).
I'll be interested to find out how you like using the manual-focus R lens vs the native XCD lenses. I had that brief time using my 50 Summilux, but in the end I sold the lens and returned the adapter. I personally didn't see any advantage as these XCD lenses are so good, but here again that's just for my personal workflow. I do definitely appreciate the attraction of using different lenses, as I'm finding out with my vintage V lenses.
