Just a shot in the dark here, does anyone know what differentiates a Futura S from a Futura S III? Thanks.

Thank you very much. I don't know how I missed that when I did a search, slaps self. Anyway, that confirms what I thought and I am now the happy owner of a Futura S III.

Here ya go.

Not likely to be any photos taken with it for two reasons, sticky shutter which is not unusual for a Synchro-Compur MX and I shoot digital now. Because of the second and it is for display I will not be getting it CLA'd.

There must be two versions of the SIII, or yours is an S fitted with the rapid advance. The example on the link that I posted above has a different front plate.

Yes it is fitted. Look at the top edge of the film wind on knob and you will notice the rapid advance leaver tucked into it. It folds out and if you release it at the end of the wind on stroke it will snap back into the housed position. Yea, there are different front plates to make matters even more confusing.

Just an update on the rapidwinder/nameplate conflict. It has come to my attention that the rapidwinder was an option for the Futura S making it an S III in all but nameplate.
