I ordered the XF 55-200.
The price after instant rebate is less than half of the price here in Europe. So lucky this sale is coming right before I go back to NYC for a family visit!
Thanks, Gary, for the HU!
I am tempted by the 55-200 as well.. I am holding out because... Waiting to c how everyone likes the xt1 here at rff. I might just get the xt1 18-135 kit instead.. Just waiting to c how the weather proof kit zoom does. May not really get anything until toward Xmas. By then the xp2 rumors should firm up in terms of a better idea of when.
The xt1 dual image has really got me intrigue. So if xp2 is way out there, I might go for the xt1 instead.

Well, I'm waiting, too, Gary.
Lenswise, waiting for the 10-24 to see how that stacks up against the 14. And then there is the "high speed wide" announced for later; I just guess it's going to be a 16/1.4. Eventually one of those will end up with me, I think.
Bodywise, I'm okay with waiting for the XP2.
Weatherproofing isn't so necessary in my X line-up. (Would LOVE to have it in Sigma Foveon, however

What? A cool-headed, reasoned approach?
The Fuji crowd may well be the most level-headed bunch among digital shooters here on RFF. (Second to Sigma, of course).

Put my money where my mouth was... bought the 23mm.
Congratulations. I think you will enjoy it.
Thanks I think I will. Going to keep my eye on 60mm used prices now that they are $400 new.

I went ahead and got my 27mm on order, they are now 1-2 month back ordered on all the sites that I normally buy from. So I have a short wait.
I hope to grab the 35mm as well possibly, but I am wondering if I should try something a bit longer for portraits and such.

Keep in mind that this should drive down used prices in the US too (for the next month).

The 60mm is a superb lens. Its not terrifically fast auto-focusing, but wonderful image quality.

the 60 is a great lens, fast enough aperture for most situations and so sharp…focus does get buggered up occasionally where it hunts back & forth.

I, for one can't hardly believe the timing for me!!
I just sold all my m4/3 gear, and have decided to go the way of Fuji this time around....And really hit the Streets Hard this next Spring to Fall....
I plan on getting the X-E2, 18mm and 35mm.... I hope PopFlash gets the 18 and 35mm back in stock soon...
The 28 fov is my favorite walk-about lens, the 50mm fov being next...
I am getting back to a simpler camera with great IQ and a good lens system in fast primes. The 56mm will have to wait a year.
Very exited about this Rebate timing!! My Tax Return is due in Mid February
Plan to save $350.00

I will have to look into the 60. The photos from it I've seen have been lovely. I only have one "90mm" lens but rarely use it because it's a big long mess.
The auto-focus stuff isn't a huge deal as I like to manual focus a lot of the time any way. And the 60 is the same as the 35 in cost.
I have about 2-3 weeks to ponder before I leap.

the 60 isn't very big…especially if you use the lenshood from the 35mm.

I don't mind a little bit of size for quality and access to the focal length it offers plus the macro functions. My 18mm with the stock hood is semi big to me as well, so that's not a super big issue.
Since I got the 27mm, I am wondering if I will need the 35mm at this point and maybe shooting for the 60 instead for portraits and such.
I like the SLR 40-50mm FL for most of the stuff I shoot when I am not going wide and I think the 27mm will cover that perfectly. So that's a good reason to look at the 60 instead. I just need to ponder it and see how finances are.

You might want to hold off on the 35 for awhile. You'll notice that the Fuji lens 'roadmap' includes a "high speed wide angle" lens coming sometime in 2014. Your kit of 18 & 27 is pretty nice, and maybe with the 60 you're covered for just about everything in the short term?

To Light & Love ...
alright I did it...fell for the pancake 27mm....will be my only fuji lens...love the 40ish pov and great price with the instant rebate
am waiting to receive megabones adapter for my 28zeiss, 50summarit & summicron (late fri)
hopefully i will be able to finally shoot with the xe1 today
though I know the XE1 probably won't come close to the sensor in the DP2M,
i do hope I will be pleasantly hooked in the digi world with the XE1 simply for having a Vf, a smashingly bright VF and low light capabilities (which the merrill lacks)
otherwise FILM still rules

not really knowing which I prefer (and having a selection of other Leica mount primes) I went for the 18-55 and it looks to be a good all-round choice
