I've been disciplining myself very well the last year without buying/trading equipment. The reason has been my contentment with the X-Pro1 and lenses of 14, 35 and 60mm. I have felt the need for a longer lens and with the $200 price drop I ordered one yesterday.
From all reports it is excellent but it's about the only lens that doesn't seem to have images posted on this forum.
I'll be happy now until a MAJOR X-Pro1 replacement comes on the scene. Then we'll see.

You might want to hold off on the 35 for awhile. You'll notice that the Fuji lens 'roadmap' includes a "high speed wide angle" lens coming sometime in 2014. Your kit of 18 & 27 is pretty nice, and maybe with the 60 you're covered for just about everything in the short term?
That's what I was thinking as the days passed and I looked at the FL equiv that the 35 offers and then what the Fuji 27 will bring me... I think the 90mm equiv of the 60 will be perfect to complete my X Mount kit.
Has -anyone- who ordered the 27mm got theirs yet or got a release/ship date that is sometime sooner then later? Mine has said it's 30-40 days away since the original order on the 9th of this month. It's still saying somewhere between March 3rd and March 20th on Amazon's site.
I was wondering if I should order it from someone else who has it in stock so I can have it in my grubby little hands.

To Light & Love ...
I purchased my 27mm from B&H this past Monday (in the store)
Had it In Stock...both in Black and Silver
Great little lens ...my only Fuji lens
Though I sometimes wonder if I should have gone a tad WIDER
Either the 18 or 14 Fuji
Since I plan on also using my zeiss 28 and 50 summarit/cron
Anyone interested in a Trade...

I really like the 18mm. It's received mixed response from others.
It's a great little lens for street and PJ style shooting. Fast too for so wide

Helen,
Check how long the return policy is. I would use it up to the day before the return policy..mainly to make sure before u trade for a different lens.
Even though I have several 28mm rf lenses around, I like the 27 pancake because I would rather have a 40ish fov native af lens. Pair it eventually w/ either the 14 or the 18 when u want wider. My normal lens when I was shooting film was the Minolta 40f2. I paired w/ a vc 21 when I used a CL body and a Leica 21f2.8 when I was shooting the Konica rf or a m6.
Anyway the bottom line, if u are more comfortable w/ the 28fov as opposed to 40, then get the 18. Not as good in the corners as the 18-55 at 18, but it is a good lens. I have it as well as the 27.
The way I look at it, if u are going to pick just one lens as your native af lens, pick the one that is equivalent to your goto lens when you were shooting film. For me it was the 40 pancakes. If no 40, then a 35 and/or 50 in that camera system.
Good luck

My 27mm is due today. Wahoo! Still saving for the other lens, I may be getting it near the end of the sale. Unless I win the lottery first.

Well, very pleased with the build and feel of the 55-200, especially the rubber grip which differs from the otherwise near identical design of the 18-55. It is HEAVY, but not overly large. That said, I would not want to go much bigger even on my XP. Miserable day outside today, so maybe some results later.

Thanks for the first report. Looking forward to seeing some photos!
But really, compared to anything in the DSLR territory, that's one heckuva light lens.

Sadly due to my budget shifting a bit recently, I don't think I will be able to get the 60 while it is on sale. Which means I won't be able to get it until it goes on sale again. Disappointing but, I have legacy glass out the wazoo and adapters which give me a very similar focal length on the camera so I will be ok.
I do like the 27mm quite a bit. I do wish it was a bit faster, but for $200 USD, I am not going to complain one bit. It's the perfect everyday lens for me, small and does the trick. It's only downfall so far has been the slow autofocus, beyond that, its a delightful lens. I do think the 18mm wide has a crisper resulting image but the 27 is no slouch.
