At 71 I think I’m past gas. (Hold the obvious comments.)
Still, occasionally the madness will overtake me but wears off as I look at prices.
Mostly now my ordering is for consumables, only have to make sure orders are enough for free shipping.
Even with extreme cravings for some doo-bob or another my now strict rule of waiting 24 hours before pulling the trigger gets my head back on straight.

One of those would go along well with the Fuji GW690 "Texas Leica" that I have. I saw a post today praising the GFX High ISO.

I take a look at the price tag and say, no! (at least for now)
I luckily live in a country that has been taking the pandemic measures quite loosely and never issued any lockdown or severe quarantine requirements. So I can actually go out, shoot, into the camera club darkroom and process, etc.
I have bought quite a bit of film last monthWhich I haven't really shot much, if I'm not shooting that much, how do I justify getting new toys?
That doesn't preclude trying to engage in smaller GAS. I think a 50mm f1.7 would be useful for my Pentax MX in the dark of winter. For digital, a faster m43 prime, 20mm, PL 15mm 1.7 or PL 25mm 1.4
And perhaps a phone with good to great photo capabilities. I have an iPhone 6 which at 5 and a half years old, is seen as ancient. I hope it still can go along for a while. Jokes aside, the phone is the camera that gets used the most.
Winter is slowly approaching, and at 59 degrees north latitude, that will mean quarantine-like life. Ugh
Our MSM full of articles like this...condemning the Swedish response to COVID. Our epidemiologists are sadists.

Politics in US driving much of the coverage.
We can get out, but regarding street shooting (photography), two choices, riots or practically nobody.
Where I live there is no winter. four seasons though, Fire, Drought, Earthquake, Heat wave.
Stay happy

I used to joke that I'd upgrade my Sony A7 every 5 generations, but with the whole industry in a tailspin, who knows when or if that will see the light of day? So I was thinking of getting an A7R3 or 4. Actually, A7 Mk 3 would be fine, but I really want pixel-shift mode, and that only seems to come with the R-models.
I'd also like to sell my Apple iPad Mini and 2013 MacBook Pro and replace both with an 11" iPad Pro.

Because in the past, that would have been like 5 years only!

for the first time ever i have no lingering feelings of GAS. in fact, i admit to having too much gear...especially lenses but my thinking keeps them safe for now...
what i crave is the energy and stamina to walk a few blocks with no pain and just enjoy using my gear and hopefully take a pleasing image or two.

Being in USA it is still quite easy to GAS out. All roads are open. Just blew it "big" on another Nikon FE, this time a black beauty. Third one (I think,as I can not find one of them).

Thank you I appreciate that.

The gear I was gasing over during lockdown in the UK was Wahl men's hair clippers.
Seems everyone else had the same idea; none to be had online, they were as rare as hen’s teeth.

I am still looking to trade my Voigtlander 35 1.2 for a zeiss 35 2.8. Is a trade considered GAS?
I have recently really been taken over by the want of a small (ish) medium format, SLR with waist level finder and interchangeable backs. I came about as I was on a walk with my TLR and was shooting B&W then happened on this scene that screamed colour.
Since then I have added my point n shoot camera loaded with colour film in my bag, but can't help but think a hasselblad 500/501 or even a mamiya 645 pro would solve all my problems....
Yes, I have a terrible case of GAS.

If I got less GAS lately, maybe it's because I scanned a whole lot of film during lockdown, and concluded that whatever special look I was getting from film didn't require me to have so many film cameras! So I started buying less and selling more film gear.
Meanwhile, all this newfound "leisure time" has helped me to rediscover simple joys like binge-watching stuff on Netflix. With previous job + commute occupying 60 hours/week of my time, many weeks I wouldn't turn on the TV at all, or I'd be multitasking if I did. Almost 15 years of that routine has left me with a considerable home-entertainment backlog! And it's not just streaming services either: There are BluRay movies I haven't watched in years, books and magazines I haven't read, games I've been meaning to play, etc!

Actually my biggest GAS is not actually gear, but film. I really want some cheap 120 color. My friends have been very generous with old stuff they have around, but I'll run through that before long shooting more than a roll of film a day.

Oh and after my time spent on youtube, I have convinced myself that I need to shoot 6x17 format too.

Bought a couple of Vivitar lenses for crazily cheap prices. Very good lenses for a snip these days. Hopefully replaced the 75-205 f3.8 zoom that I foolishly sold years ago. Got one in OM mount in the post as we speak. Made by Kiron (Kino) and built like a tank.

Ugh...so far in quarantine I've bought:
Bessa R3A
Minolta CLE
LTM Canon 50/1.5
LTM Voigt 35/1.7
LTM Voigt 75/2.5
Olympus Stylus Epic
Thankfully I've also managed to shoot about 25 rolls so everything has been getting a nice workout.

I recently purchased a very clean (externally, at least) Leica M2 badly in need of a CLA. The price seemed right and it satisfied my GAS, at least for now; also, it'll help keep DAG's backlog intact. For those of you stuck in quarantine, what gear are you GASing over? ...
