G III QL17 help needed

I picked up a good working Canonet G III QL17 today. However the battery door is broken.. 🙁

Anybody know where I might find this door?

You might buy a QL-17 (not the GIII version) for cheap on fleabay to use for parts. Most people pass them over if they're not the GIII model so the prices are usually pretty low.

Do you still have the door? I have one with the door hinge broken and to keep it from falling out I just put a piece of scotch tape over it. Then I can write the film type and speed on the tape.

If you lost the door altogether just get a 1/16" piece of balsa wood at a hobby shop, whittle to shape, and then tape that in place.

The Canonet 28 doors are identical, I think. Much
cheaper off *Bay.
