g1 battery question

Hi Joe,

They do use the same battery it seems. Here is the text from BH Photo Video:
DMW-BLB13 Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery (7.2v, 1250 mAh)

* For Panasonic DMC-GH1, DMC-G1, DMC-G2 & DMC-GF1 SLR Digital Cameras

does the gf1 use the same battery as the g1?

Joe: I am reasonably sure that the current firmware versions for the GF-1 require you to use the real Panasonic battery and not a 3rd party one. I do not know if this is true for the G-1 or not. I only have real Panasonic batteries so do not have first hand experience but that is what I continually read.

I've got a GH1 and had a G1 before - the batteries are the same.

@ Bob Michaels :
There's some 3rd party batteries which accept the last Panasonic firmwares - on the bay the sellers clearly note it in their classifieds and those I tried were OK.

a poorly worded question, my apologies...i was really wanting to know who might use these batteries.
i have one left over from the sale of my g1...i put it up for sale but not a nibble so it just sits here next to my computer irritating me. it is near new as it was a back up and i didn't use the camera all that much...i am thinking about just giving it away but wondered how many folks are still in need of this battery type.

Hey Joe, as you know, I still use a G1. I love using it, and plan to continue using it in the foreseeable future. --Warren

p.s. My GF1 uses the same batteries.
