Hi all - I've been happily using my G1 with the 45mm lens for a couple of years now, but recently picked up the 35mm as well. I got my first roll of shots with it back this morning and can't help noticing that the borders of my shots go a long way beyond what I had seen in the finder, making a lot of the comps. much more "slack" than they looked when I was taking them.
There are a couple of shots I clearly remember framing very tightly, one close up and one at infinity, and both of them have a lot of room round the edges of the frame that wasn't there in the finder. I've tested coverage against the 45mm on a tripod and the field of view is definitely changing as I change lenses, so I don't think there's a basic mechanical problem there.
Has anyone noticed this issue with the 35mm or any of the other lenses? Is the finder more accurate with some lense than others? I normally frame pretty tightly with the 45mm and I've never noticed this issue before - the "zooming" finder is one of the reasons I tend to prefer the G1 to my M6 for a lot of things, so I'm a bit taken aback to be dealing with Leica style framing inaccuracies 😱.
All help welcome!
Cheers, Steve
