Having gone digital with a Nikon D-100, and now planning to purchase a D2X I am looking to sell my Contax G2 system. The system comprises the following items:
G2 Body
21mm Lens with finder, lens shade, Contax UV filter and leather case.
28mm lens with lens shade, Contax UV Filter
45mm lens with lens shade, Contax UV Filter
90mm lens with lens shade, Contax Uv filter.
In addition each lens also has a front and rear lens cap. Addition items included:
55mm Helopan polerizing filter for 21mm lens
55mm B&W 81A Warming Filter
46mm Contax 81A filter for all other lenses
46mm Hoya Polorizing filter for all other lenses
Contax T2 Titanium w/case
All G2 items are in excellant condition (I baby my equipment). The T2 has no scratches but does have a very slight ding on the top (happened when in Contax repair).
Offered $1350 US from a large retail firm as trade in for D2X. Would prefer to sell outright to a rangefinder affectionato.
If interested contact me via e-mail at david-diane@att.net
If interested make an offer. I have two weeks to decide whether or not to take the camera companies offer. Sorry not a believer in e-bay.
If you live anywhere in New Jersey, or near its borders, we can make arrangements so you may inspect the camera.
Will not sell separate pieces.

Soory that you missed it. All the equipment is in excellant condition. My D2X is due to arrive by Tue or Wed of next week, so I will be soon removing it for sale.
www.keh.com would give prospective buyers and idea of resale price. Check their used equipment area and then contax and then G2. As far as I can remember resale price from KEH would be $2000+.

I thought about selling my G2 28,45,90 kit when I got the D60, but I added a 35 and a G1 body instead :)

Believe me, you'll miss it!

Socke- you've hit the nail on the head. I've been through TWO kits so far, and though I got rid of them because the cameras couldn't be made reliable without multiple returns to the depot, I miss them, and the fine pictures from them.

jdos2 and socke your are both correct, no doubt that I will miss it, especially the excellant Ziess lenses. A few years ago Popular Photography Magazine did a review on the 28, 45 and 90 and rated them extremely high. In fact they out performed their Leica conterparts.
Unfortunately being on fixed income (spell that retired) purchasing film and processing is becoming expensive. Digital eliminated most (but not all) the cost.
Anyway I have a very interested individual that I am meeting on Monday to show him the camera. He's offered 1425, so we may have a deal.
I'll let you know.
Thank you all for your interest.

Sounds like a fair price, Contax G equipment droped a lot recently. That's why I have the 35mm :)
