G2 Databack with slide film

I have been considering purchasing a G2 Databack. I understand that it can print the time and date of each picture taken in the edge of the film, however I now tend to use a lot of FujiFilm Velvia film and with the mounting, I am thinking this information will be lost to me.

Does anyone have any experience using the Databack with slide film at all?

I've used the G2 Data Back and Velvia and had no problems with the printing. Go for it. 🙂

Where does the image information get printed? I know there is an option to print it all on the last two frames but I was thinking the mounting around the slide would obscure any information printed to the edge of the photo.

Go to www.contaxg.com and on the Home/Log In Bar do a search for gd-2 manual. This will take you to a page where the GD-2 Manual is available. Download it and you will see exactly what the Data Back will do. Film or slides, it makes no difference, it prints to both.

SirAlien, if you choose the option to print between the frames this will obviously be lost when the slides are framed.
The option to print on the first two frames is better for slides as this is perfectly visible when projected 🙂
The databack will print more than what fits between the frames on the first two frames, which are left blank for this purpose, when rewinding.
IMHO worth the loss of two frames on every roll.
