Gallery/album help please - I'm confused!

Hi all - I joined a couple of weeks back and am now trying to come to grips with the gallery, but I'm struggling (is there an uploading FAQ?).

I uploaded five shots to the member galleries, then created two albums (one for shots from my G1, one for my M6). I assumed that, like on most other photo hosting sites you could have the same shot in more than one place without it taking up extra bandwith or counting twice, but the shots seem to have been counted as new images when they were copied over. I've been trying to sort the problem out but I'm failing! The system is also telling me I've uploaded 10 shots rather than 5.

Any tips on whether there's a way to have shots in more than one place without "doubling up?". If I upload direct to an album will my shots still appear in the recent upload/member galleries, or do they disappear into the album never to be seen again?

The Gallery is the weakest point of RFF.

Steve, I am the least technologically able of the Mod Staff around here so hopefully Kim, Joe or Jorge can give you the right answer, but my experience is that no, they get double counted if you upload to multiple albums/galleries. That is my experience with my uploads. Now I normally upload shots to my Member's Gallery and then after a little time I will move them to an album.

Thanks Rover - oh well! I've just gone in and deleted the duplicates in the albums -think I'll just keep all my shots in the member galleries for now.
