no. you should be able to attach pics to the posts. I just shut the gallery down because its so big that importing it more than once will be a big pain.
When all is done, you will notice a big difference in speed of the site 🙂

I notice it's back up now, but you must still be working on it. My observations, in case they're useful to you:
1. The gallery seems slower now than before - noticeably so on the gallery front page.
2. Pre-existing comments & ratings do not seem to have been restored.
3. There is no link labelled "my gallery" on the header bar for the gallery main page.
I presume you already know all of this, but I figured I'd mention it just in case.

Thanks again for all your efforts Jorge. One small glitch I am having is not being able to access my gallery via the "my gallery" link on the header bar.
