Gallery editing and sorting

Earlier today I was trying to move some photos from one album to another and they have ended up on the "Recent Photos" page. Is there a way to move photos among albums without having them automatically post to this section? My apologies for subjecting members to pictures they may have already seen...

i thought if moved they didn't show up again in the recent photos again.
