Congratulations to everyone who has been mentioned this week and to those that joined in. Lots of good stuff that I missed at first but enjoyed here later.
Here are my last three picks for this week...
TennesseeJones - Shadow Sketch
It was watching old movies as a child, like Fritz Lang's 'M' (as was mentioned in the comments of this pic) Hitchcock's silent movie The Lodger and even the old Basil Rathbone & Nigel Bruce films of the Sherlock Holmes stories that first prompted my interest in photography. Perhaps it's correct to say prompted my visual awareness but they certainly gave me a realisation of the power of images. This picture instantly took me back to those movies and the techniques they used to convey mood and create tension within the viewer, shadow play and strong directional light being the cornerstones. The comment 'looks like a still from a movie' is often read in the Gallery, here I think it is perfectly suited. Plus, anything that makes me feel like I'm seven again is no bad thing!

Frank Petronio - America's Got Talent
What do I really need to say about any of Frank's pictures? They're always highly visual, arresting and often provocative...but they also have a sense of humour and it can be easy to overlook the one for another as I did this week when I first viewed this. Perhaps thats as much a reason to include this here as any, a reminder of what photography can be and what it doesn't always need to be. Unless of course Frank's just f*****g with us

I liked this this the moment I saw it as a thumbnail, with its bold silhouettes, bright colours and clear shapes. It also shows that you can get a great image encapsulating an event without treading the 'usual' path. It also goes to show the importance of having impact as a thumbnail. As this thread so often proves, too many good pictures get overlooked as they don't pop out at you in thumbnail form - not going to happen here as this just goes BANG
