Was this really taken in Alameda, Ca.? It looks like an old Vauxhall Cresta/Velox or Victor, but in California?

I think this car might be a Humber Snipe.

Thanks for the mentions guys- ChrisN, I'm not sure what kind of car it is actually, I'll post some more pics of it close up, see if that helps.
The owner pulled it out of the driveway, and spent most of the morning cleaning and polishing it up. My father in-law (who lives across the street) says this was the owner's weekend ritual.
Unfortunately my Dutch wasn't quite good enough to ask the gentleman about his car...

and no, MickH, it wasn't shot in Alameda, it was shot in The Netherlands, across the street from my in-laws in Den Haag, near Kijkduin-Strand.

I'm with you Keith. I don't doubt that anyone who sees one of their images posted here is grateful and pleased. I would hate to think a "thanks" in the form of a reply is needed or required etiquette. Would much rather see people post more images. I always see lots of wonderful work here that I've missed in the Gallery and that is what makes this forum so rewarding. Perhaps people can post a single, eternal "thanks."

As I'm new to RFf I'm still learning how to navigate my way around so was a little surprised to discover a couple of my photos appear in this thread. Thank you.
There's a lot of really interesting work by some very accomplished photographers and as soon as I've worked out how to do it I'll add them to this thread.
