Here's my picks:

Martini, This has everything, composition, rich colors, and dark brooding sky, I really like this.

2 from lynnb:

Lots of dark tones, silhouettes and shadows on a cloudy moonlit night.

It takes a keen eye and fast focusing and composing for a shot like this, well done.

enlo, from this it's easy to see how Buckminster “Bucky” Fuller got the idea for the geodesic dome. A beautiful photo of something that is a lawn owners worst nightmare.

rogerzilla, I just love the light that Summar caught streaming in through the mist onto the ground frost.

Steveh, yep, the lady and her shadow is why I picked this one, truly the icing on the cake.

rogerzilla - the day after the birth. My pick of the week. Beautiful image. Eyes, expression, light, framing, DOF... wonderful.

Cow Parsley - another delightful shot from rogerzilla, taken with an M3 and Elmarit 90/2.8

porktaco - onefest1. it captures that timeless feel of childhood. Also it draws my eye in a circle, from the running boy to right b/g to left b/g and back again

Luigi - analogon... I prefer this film version of an earlier digital capture. It shows the lines in the landscape as well as the contrast between the standing and felled trees, and provides a more informed, powerful statement.

SteveH - Mirror. It's the girl and her shadow that really make this image stand out

Luigi - The Night has a Thousand Eyes. Luigi's ongoing series of night shots in villages just keeps on giving me reasons to admire his keen eye for light, shadow and composition

Keith - Light** The soft light, pleasing bokeh and mood in this one caught my imagination

Tony Pio - Bride on cellphone. The image this conjures up - with the groom and bridal party all waiting while the bride takes a cellphone call during her wedding event - is priceless. Bod composition and nice light, too.

Harrejesus - Jacket and Pillow. Graphically strong, the matching coat stand is slightly surreal, I like the processing - the image has a lot of bite

siracusa - Paris Catacombs. reminders of mortality always make for powerful imagery

Robklurfield - Relocated Ruins Revisited No. 3. Atmosphere in *****s.

Martini - Untitled. Amazing skyscape with a 4-stitch pano

My Picks for the Week

Each week I start by saying that there are a lot of excellent photographs this week. Well, that was an understatement for this week. This is a Stellar Week for miages. I am sure I have missed some excellent photographs and I am sorry about that.

Paul's amazing series on the Chemo treatment room. Bright, clean soft light gives this shot a feeling that you are in a powerful hands.

Tuna
Gorgeous gray/white tones here. Very nice composition. Archetecture shots are one of my favorite subjects.

This is an excellent shot with the mirror. I like the mix of shapes.

lynnb
The seated men all lined up, apparently at the beach, is a nice moment caught.

Line perspectives like this often attract the eye. I am always fascinated by the lines and texture of rail tracks. Nice dark tones here.

What a great subject! Beautiful photograph well framed. Excellent choice of viewpoint. The fog created a perfect background and wonderful light on these pillars.

I hope this isnt too dumb of a question, but how are you posting images from the gallery? Do you download them first, upload to a site then paste in the BBCode. or are you just taking the gallery link and posting it directly. I havent tried either way, just looking for the fastest way.
