Firstly, some of the photos that grabbed my attention - although I was away alot last week so missed plenty by the looks of things.

I'll start with another cat shot!! I know, shocking.

ferider's Shadow21 - Whilst I'm a big softie for cats this one gives the dog lovers some ammunition when they say cats are aloof, stand-offish and certainly not man's best friend. Perhaps, perhaps not but better watch what you say around them.

Lynn's XA Summer #999 - I could easily have gone for Lynn's bench shot which was superb but this one is just so good to stare at, slowly realising how many patterns and cameos there are to look at.

Shirley Creazzo's Sunrise New York State - a tiny picture but a beautiful colour palette...and a reminder that somethings are just too pretty not to photograph

Semrich's Untitled - Bringing speed, road noise, grinding gears, horns and burning deisel to life

bobbyrap's Zeiss 21/4.5 - The title gives the impression this was little more than a lens test or experiment, the result is so much more.

ChEc's Letter and number sequence ( sorry Chris, I've forgotten what its named ) - Amazing colours and utmost precision in the composition.

Steveh's Underground#1 - This is the London of Mackendrick's The Ladykillers or the Rathbone/Bruce Sherlock Holmes movies and I could love it for that reason alone.

finally, C. Poulton's Greenwich Park Couple - I try to avoid commenting along the lines of "just like HCB" or "as if Terry O'Neill took the shot" etc etc, except the first thing I thought when I saw this was that someone had simply posted a Winogrand shot to the gallery. I'm so ashamed😉 but I wouldn't be if I was Mr C. Poulton.

I know I've missed loads this week but even what I did get to see has been impressive.

Secondly, a big thanks to Lynn, Lluigi, Photony Texas and Tj01 for including my triptych and another nod to Richard; my second week back looking at the Gallery Picks and I'm already finding how differently I look at the pictures during the week and how I'm becoming slightly less myopic.

Congratulations to all.

Paul, Harry and Richard, thank you so much for the mentions. It's always a great pleasure and an honor to be here.

I have missed this great photo by Paul (but I think I have also missed some others this week):

i'm a sucker for everything in this picture. kubrick imagery, subway tile, confined sight distances, curvey lighting, ghostly figures. it's a superbly well taken image, and the resolution in the subway tile gives it away as well crafted.

the strong linear elements, the delicious reflections, the ghostly buildings and that wonderful lit-up head.

similarly, great sight lines, wonderful organic/rounded forms. glorious tones.

i think havana is my next photo trip destination. this whole series was really great. the m8-to-film-look is especially to be commended.

really interesting. had to click, glad i did.

lastly.... lastly. x-ray's series on the klan/nazi gathering. impossible not to look, well documented. this kid isn't nearly half as scary as his supercreepy dad.

and in a moment of synchronicity, the photo preceding it in the gallery is this one, from tigerphil. it's nice in its own right, but doubly noticable from where it sits in the queue.
