Gallery requirements

Been looking around the forum and the gallery to look for the Gallery rules.

So please direct me to the right forum or instructions.

Do you guys upload to the gallery here or link to something like Flickr.

If you up load to the gallery here what is the recommended image size, pixels per inch and file type?

I don't want to send somthing too big or too low res.

The images look like 800 x 600.

You're better at this than me. Where did you find it? I won't suggest that this is added to FAQ or even a sticky, and I won't ask how to start a new thread, as I may stumble on that again one day. But I was thinking of adding some pictures to my gallery but have no idea how to do it or what is the best way. Could someone help me out?

Some people upload to the gallery, some have their own websites or Flickr or other photo hosting services they use. I have my own website, and I think most of us who have a website or an account with a photo hosting place like Flickr just use that and link the pics from those places when we show pics in RFF threads. Easier than uploading to my site then again to the RFF gallery, plus since I do this professionally and depend on my work to eat, I don't like them residing on other people's servers. Better to keep it all on my own site.

I wonder why so many members post stamp-sized photos in the gallery with 600px or smaller. I would appreciate if the minimum size for photos in the gallery was 700 or 800px. Can't judge a photo by such a small thumbnail.

Thanks a lot guys. I'm currently on top of posting in threads from flickr, so I might just stick with that if it works in the Gallery.
