Gallery: what does "Top Posters" signify?

On the Gallery main page, where is a list of top ten "Posters". I've noticed that this list never-ever changes 🙂

It's just a list of the top 10 in terms of numbers of photos posted in the gallery. The rankings fluctuate slightly based on when someone posts and how much they post. It's not especially important in any meaningful way.
