...one month ago i was to an electronic expo, one of the ones you can find almost everything..and as usually, there was a small photo equipment section.
I know this kind of sellers...they show their gears as they would sell vegetables and fruits.. and they speak about prices as everyone could gain and spend 1000 € at one shot.
Lot of Leicas around. Real Leicas. No fakes. Just the Royal Family. Peasant are left out.
No Zorki. No Kiev. No Fed, except the one on that dark corner, cover of dust, between a Bencini Koroll and a Praktica...but...wait....that man....he is not italian...he is polish...and...and...YES!! He has!! He has!! Can't believe to my eyes! A table, cover in red, full, and i mean FULL OF SOVIET GEARS! Here a Zorki, there a Leningrad, the big one MTO, lot of J8 around...and hide behind a giant Olympia Sonnar clone, the one i searched for long time: Russar. Chrome. Perfect. With finder.
My heart was thundering. I asked for its price, then checked my cash. Not enough money. No way to get it. But no fear: "where's next expo?" "ok, it will be mine. I will be there with the money"
...
Yesterday i woke up very early. No friend, no girls. Just me in the car, driving alone to the expo...125 km. Just the radio was my mate. When i saw the people from the distance, i thought "i'm here. It's done". I literally ran into the expo, looking around to see my trusted man........
"Where is? Is he not here?"
No. No. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. The man, my seller, my only source of soviet things was not there. I checked carefully every table, every corner, every little place...he was absent. After a while i turned back to my car, 125 km, radio, etc etc.
Angry? No....just two weeks, for the next expo!! 😀
