The last three months I have been saving my pennies for a new lens...something fast that I could use for streetphotography or indoor stuff. The 40mm Nokton seemed the perfect lens and I was on my way to go try one out this weekend, just to make sure that is was THE lens.

Then today, after coming back from a meeting and walking by my passenger side of my car
A BIG freakn dent! No note and no sign of when this happened...

I took it by the autobody shop and got an estimate @ $1,300, my insurance should take care of it, but I will be out $500 to $300...still waiting to hear from the claims adjuster guy. :bang:

Well, my GAS is cured...this should set me back aways. :bang:
I hope karma sends something costly to this individual.

thanks Jon - I had to vent and let a little steam off.

yeah, cars suck and are a huge liability that do nothing but depreciate over time...not the best investment to make. I could not get along without one, so for now I will take care of my car, but eventually I will stop caring and let the dents be and have just a beater of a car.

Sorry to hear about that - I hope you can recover soon and have a go with the Nokton. Good luck.

With the proliferation of security cameras these days, it might be beneficial to at least investigate if some record of the event was made.

All-in-all, a bummer. I will send good energy and hope it reaches you.

I did even worse. I was backing out of my garage and scrapped the paint off my right rear fender with deep scratches. Quote to repair is $1,600 and I can't even blame someone else:)

There's an old joke about the guy who returned to his car to find a big dent, just like you. But, unlike your experience, there was a note under the wiper. It said, "There are at least 5 people who saw me hit your car. They are watching me write this note. They think I'm writing my name and phone number, but I'm not."

I'm sorry to hear about your car. I can relate. I recently backed into a friend's vehicle that was parked in an unusual spot in my driveway. Now I'm trying to sell an M2 to cover some of the damage. In my case maybe it was a Karma thing as I had overextended myself to buy a second M2 only a month or two before that.

Anyone looking for a really good user M2?

like2fiddle - This accident should have been covered by your automobile liability insurance.

Yes, it was covered, but in an attempt to keep the premiums lower we increased the deductable some time ago, (so now it's being spent on a fender bender).

Thanks Everyone!

Maybe the perp figured out you are from Seattle. They really don't like Seattle folks much...lol
