I know its early. Vacation in October has me eyeing a Zeiss 21mm for my Contax. I'm trying to fight the urge to by right now. A fool and his money are soon parted. I thought I was over the G system but every time I use it I am hooked again.

You have a very nice sets of lenses. And Contax G 21 will certainly extend your WA range. Go for it and you won't regret it!

G21 is considered to be one of the stellar RF wide angle lenses, have read tons of good review and seen numerous nice photos, go for it. These days it's not that expensive comparing to any ZM LM equivalen lenses

I just ordered mine. I should have it next week. I am really looking forward to it. Thanks for the encouragement.

That's great! You won't be disappointed with the G21. Mount it on your G2 and shoot some slide film. Please share some your photos.

Cheers,

get one. i just bought a G1 solely for this lens. it is amazingly good (examples on my Contax page in the signature)

I still don't have the G 21mm, but I have the 28-45-90 lenses.
I also have the G 45 in M mount!

I recently resumed scanning of my slides with Minolta Multipro. I was surprised how many of my best images were made with 21mm Biogon. It's truly amazing lens and worth every penny...

One can find replacements for the 28, 35 and 90mm, and some extend the 45mm (can be argued), but the 21mm is unique - and the G system perfect, as you can use the external VF to compose and the camera will focus (the cross in the finder shows the approx. focus area)...I know there is hyperfocal and all that, but with f/2.8, close distances (the lens focuses to 0.5m) and such a sharp lens I want to nail focus.

I had a full G1 system w/out the 21mm, sold it all over time. I just bought another G1 & 28mm. Some of the best pics were shot with that combo. I'm also looking to pickup a 21 & use this set as my wide setup.
