It seems to me that the old Contax II's over complex winding mechanism is stressed to the max. I decided to give my favorite one a break and cranked off the tension on the main spring a couple of turns. It now winds on easier, with the very slow speeds and B little bit more sluggish, but serviceable. I checked the 125, 250 and 500 and they are all within reason using the tv screen-count the lines method. These are my most commonly used speeds anyway. I didn't even bother to check 1/1250. (By the way, the camera is not neglected-it has been cleaned and lubed not all that long ago.)
