I know I really have a problem because I bought a film developing kit (from someone here) and the required chemistry and plan to develop my film at home. That way I can save money by only printing the stuff worth printing.
Thank you for the kind words about my doggie photos. My friends are getting kind of sick of seeing black and white dog photos, but I think photos are usually more interesting if there's a mammal of some kind in them (primate, canine, or otherwise) and the dogs are always available, so...

The photo with the Rollei is much better than the earlier ones shot with the Leica. I suspect with the use of a twin lens reflex camera that the lens was closer to the ground. The background is nicely thrown out of focus. A nice portrait.
Doggie photos are nice. Take a look at William Wegman's work. There are photographers out there that specialize in pet portraits.

Love Wegman's earlier work. The dogs are OK

Very nice, Melanie - I'm a sucker for well done dog pics. As a matter of fact, if you ever decide to sell a print of that, please let me know.
My new-to-me M6 left for a stay at DAG's Leica Day Spa, too - I was going to hold off until the end of autumn, but decided I'd do it now before spring hits.

I was talking to him yesterday, and he advised three to four - two would be great!

Thank you, Melanie, for sharing your Rollei experience. I have been tempting to try my Rolleicord on the street but have always backed out my plan. Instead, I kept picking up my M6. Maybe it's time for me to take it for a run.
BTW, lovely doggie photo. Great scan as well. Would you elaborate a bit on the scanning technique (as to show on screen similar to print)?
Also BTW, I hate to call William Wegman a pet photographer.
(ops...sorry for stealing the thread)

Nice. Slightly front-focussed on the main dog. On purpose to control the Bokeh on the left-hand doggie?

I just got my new-to-me M2 and three lenses back from Youxin.
7 days door to door, and everything looks as new as the day I was born.

Sell a print? Seriously? If you want one we can work something out -- I don't print my own though...
As far as scanning, all I did was use the negative thingie on my cheapo Epson scanner (2480 Photo), which when I bought the scanner I had no idea what it was and almost threw it away. I just cropped it in Photoshop Elements and downsized it for the web and that's all. The original scan came out fuzzy and did not look like the prints I'd had developed. Richard S will have to fill you in on what happened after that since he did some adjustments in Photoshop. What I posted looks more like the print than my original negative scan does.

You are way too kind. I wish I could say I did anything on purpose other than frame it. I guess I focused on Solo's white stripe, because that's what I always focus on. Once I found out how striking his yellow eyes look in black and white photos (in color they look kind of squinty), I made sure to always try to get them in as sharp focus as I can. Not that it always works.
