Gitzo traveler

I've been eyeing the gitzo traveler series for quite a while now.

What's the difference between the gitzo traveler models like the 1580T and the 1541 and 1542T for example?

The 1580 really isn't a travel tripod and mostly seems to be sold as a kit anyway. Look at that long first leg section and the folded length of 25 in. for why. The 1541 and 1542 travel tripods fold to 16-17 in., as do most travelers.

Many are mourning the passing of the 1541 as the 1542 is shorter, heavier and with a poorer load spec. I still have my 1541 but actually use a Benro C2680T as it's a better tripod. Some Chinese tripods are now extremely good indeed.
