Give me some comments

Jochan, your shots are wonderful, thanks for sharing!

So this is what the 28mm Ultron can look like when handled by someone who knows his stuff! 🙂
Guess I have to sell my other kidney now.. 🙄

cheers,
phil

All great shots. Thanks for sharing. Happy New Year (of the Rooster)! Tomorrow, 9 Feb 05 for those who didn't know.

I liked the series very much! Personally , my favorite is "Restaraunts back door". I think the underexposure helps very much with the colors. I also enjoyed the shot of the woman shopping for New Year's food. Do you shoot B&W film?

Superb documentation. The backdoor - yes - it's a window...

Thanks Rob. Long time without shooting with B/W films, I stop because I don't have my darkroom since I left college. Now I think I'll try again by using my little scanner. 😛

Jochan: How difficult is it to use your Dual Scan? I read somewhere that it was so precise in scanning that it picked up miniscule bits of dust and then you had to use Digital Ice - or whatever it's called - to get rid of the stuff.

So, that said, how long does it take you to scan one negative and get it ready to print?

Ted

PS: Wonderful pictures - gives one a real slice-of-life of everyday Hong Kong...

Luckly, there was no technical problem happened during my installation. I was also hesitated for a while like you as I read user comments from the web. However the cost is too attractive for me to take the risk. I will say the machine is so far so good. The only problem I found the dust removal function doesn't seem working to me maybe I need some fine tunning instead. Dust problem will happen seriously on color negs. and relatively grainy than positives but I think these happen on Nikkon Coolscan V too.

The speed is reasonable and acceptable to me for a max. resolution scanning needs 15-20 secs (just scanning time, excluding the setting parts). To have a good scanning on color negs. will cost you more time and patient on the setting parts.

I hope this will help you to make the choice and glad to hear you like my series. Thanks Ted.

Becouse of No ICE function, Dual 4 is very fast speed in scanning!
even the Elite5400/CS5 also can't beat the speed!

however, the dust problem is not so heavy on me, i will use air pump to clean the film before insert it into scanner, and use Photoshop "PATCH" function to clean the little dust, too! It's fast and easy, try it!
