Give us a sample picture from your Yashica

Hi Harlee

At the moment, Jorge, the site administrator and owner, is having some problems with the attachments data, following a move to a new server, and he has asked us not to post attachments just now. He'll let us know when it's ok again.

However, when things are back to normal, look for the "Manage Attachments" button, on the "Reply to Thread" screen, below the box where you type your reply. After you click on that it will open a small dialog that allows you to attach up to five images. Best to keep the images to low-res, 800x600 or smaller.

Just found RF.com ...great site.

Just found RF.com ...great site.

I've had my Electro 35 GS just under a month, I put new seals in it, cleaned it, made a battery holder from a roll of "sticky notes" paper and a spring, and lubed it.

I am really amazed at the quality of the photos! Great contrast and sharpness. I liked it so much in fact that I just bought a GSN, but have not shot any film through it yet.

Suddenly I got great Electro 35 GTN. After light seal replacement it is OK. Also the foldable rubber lens hood and snap-on lens cap (with cap holder) are purchased. DOF test is in my gallery (focused on the antenna's rod).
I'm using wrist strap with my DSLR and am intended to do the same for Yashica.
Happy New Year for everyone!

Hi Charles!

I see my GS works good! Hope you are enjoying using it as much as I did reviving it!

Cheers,

Russ :D

Howdy Russ!

Yep, this GS works real nice ! The color shots that it renders tend to lean a bit to a blueish cast, but then blue is my favorite color. I am pleased with the photos I'm getting, check out my gallery to see color as well as B & W.

Hi everyone, I am new to the forum .... I figured this would be a good place for my first post since my main rangefinder is the Electro 35 GS

:p

I also just recieved my Yashica (Electro GT) back from Dave and am half way through it's first roll... Will post some pics here when I get them.

FInally have enough film through the GSN to come up with some photos. These are all from a recent trip to Vietnam. Quality of the actual photos is much better than these images -- I used Walgreens Photo CD service to get these, but I felt the digital images excessively grainy compared to the actual prints.

Hi!
Here are a couple of shots from my GSN, which I cleaned and re-leathered recently. The POD was made of a clear material which was still in perfect condition. I have noticed this on some GSN's, while others have the deteriorating pile of goo. (I currently have about 20 Electro's in various stages of dissassembly...)
Anyway, I had the GSN out yesterday and shot a roll of Plus-X. Processed it last night and printed out a few of the beter ones, of which these 2 are the best. The third shot is a digital of my GSN.
The Yashica's and the Ciro-flex TLR's that I recently discovered (I have 7 of them right now!) inspired me to get back into the darkroom after a 19 year lull. Forgot how much fun it is!! I still use my digital occasionally, for snap-shot purposes and ebay listings, but the Yashica and the Ciro-flex are for more serious photography. Now I have a new excuse for going back to all the museums that I have been to a million times!!

Regards to all,

Russ

TO IGMeanwell : fantastic shot. The most noble of uses for a camera.

Hey, Chris, I LOVE your little subtitle there about UPS. They have done a number on me lately.

Nice shot, too. Has luminosity - the person by the aquarium.

Thanks guys...and no worries Jan :D

Yeah UPS has lost my business forever, their 'customer service' was merely a collection of misinformation told to me by several different people over several weeks. just terrible.

I don't mean to hijack this thread with UPS stories.... but... I quit using them unless forced to by a vendor. I now choose USPS, Canada Post, British Post Office etc. Cost less , far less "surprise" add on charges and the delivery time is only one or two days difference when using a "priority parcel" postage rate

I received my first Yashica electro today, a 35 GSN. No battery in it but it sure looks clean. I read somewhere that the shutter should still fire (with no battery) at 1/500. Mine does not. Is this true or will this rf only fire with a working battery?

Thanks for any info.
Kevin
