Glass from M6ttl to M9

Well the day has come where I will be parting with a nearly new M6ttl and adding an M9.

I just don't have the space or time to shake the tank anymore but love the classic Leica look/ glow. If I need sharp I have Canon SLR ...

So my research here was left me wondering what glass to sell and which will give the old school look to my digi files when the M9 Comes true. I need to sell as much as possible to fund the new camera as I'm just a photo assistant... Read camera poor.

I have a:
15mm Voit 4.5
35mm ver 1
50mm Canon 1.2
50mm Summerit
50mm DR
90mm 2.0 folding hood
135 Canon & Hecktor

I am pretty set in keeping the Ver1 but learned the DR is no good on the digi's. So does the image from the Canon feel like the DR stopped down to 2.0 or 2.8 or is the Rigid needed to keep the look?
I love the low-fi wide open of the Canon but the Leica classic look is my goal in this move.

My images will be 90% black & white in the end of people/lifestyle.
I really don't need this camera to be "lab tack sharp", but more character ...

Good suggestions from JSU, which would give you my preferred trinity of 35-50-90. These lenses should permit you a pretty classic rendering on a digital M. It won't be the same as on film, of course, but with your lenses, you'll certainly achieve a much more classic look than if you had Karbe-designed ASPH lenses.

If it was me I'd keep the 35/2, the 90/2, and trade all your 50s in partly against your M9 and partly against a more recent 50/2. If you can't afford to get a newer 50/2 then just the 35 and 90 would still give you a classic lightweight combination to cover most situations.

The 50DR is the same construct as the 50 rigid Summicron I think.
If so, then this will give you that "classical look" on the M9 you want, (well mine does anyway).

My 50mm rigid was on an M3 S/S when I bought it way back when.

I'd go with the 35/2 for a general purpose lens for a lightweight, compact kit.

And then the 50/1.2 for a more special purpose kit (portraits, say). But that's only because I much prefer environmental portraits over those tight, neck and face shots. Plus, a 50/1.2 lens covers pretty much all you want to do with a rangefinder - just ask Cartier-Bresson, for whom a 50mm was sufficient 90% of the time.

EDIT: then again, if the 50mm Summarit is the older f1.5 version and not the modern f2.5, I'd take that instead of the Canon. Smaller, lighter and only a half stop difference which on the M9 won't mean much as you can easily jack up ISO. Plus, I prefer the old Summarit's rendition... classical? Yessum!
