glass wearers: which is better?

Can someone also wearing glasses give his/her experience with the 0.58 leicas vs the ZI?

I have a .58 M6TTL and wear glasses and am left-eye dominant, which makes it even worse (my nose keeps me from getting as close to the finder as you right-eyed people do). I also got the 1.25x magnifier when I bought the camera, which is a great combo. I still can't see the 28mm lines, can see the 35mm with a bit of space, and find the 50 not to be too small. The 90 is a bit small, so I'll use the magnifier when I need accurate focus with my 90.

I tried an M9 with its .6-something viewfinder (.68?) and higher eye relief and could just see the 35mm frame lines, so, unfortunately, it's not completely impractical for me to get one. There goes my next dozen tax rebates!

the basic Leica finder is 0.72, but all frames are not equal.
Mid M4-P production, there is a well documented reduction of the frames size.
That means that you probably have more difficulties seing a 35mm frame in an M2 than in an M6 or MP.

Right. I was pointing out that, if two eyeglass wearers have different experiences with the same camera, then the differences must be down to differences in their eyes and their eyeglasses.

I think there is a tradeoff between the size of a frame and ease of use for eyeglass wearers. Sort of a sweet spot. Too large and you won't see from edge to edge. Too small and, well, I think really small frames are annoying. So, as Goldilocks found out, sometimes the porridge is just right.

I like the 28 frame on my R4M and the 50 frame on the M2. No problem seeing all the edges, but they are large enough to use easily. I'd be happy if all framelines were that size. If someone ever builds an RF with a really good EVF, I hope they go that route. I.e., keep the frameline the same size for all focal lengths but alter the image in the finder.
