Cameras for Life!

Can't afford an R system but I am very impressed with them. Got my eye on a IIIf myself if I can get a garage sale up and going when the weather warms up! I reckon the M3 and the IIIf would still be around for life, most anybody's life, not just mine!🙂🙂🙂

Excuse me for awhile, sun's up and I need to exercise the M3.

Dave, it's cold and icy here but I'm going out for a walk with a camera in hand in a few minutes. The punditry on RFF can be fun sometimes, but you're right that sometime we spend as a group a lot more time complaining and speculating. So, I'm going to go expose some Legacy Pro 100 (probably overexpose it, but so what) right now.

It's just the nature of the Internet. People are bored at work, so they're surfing the net and talking about what interests them. This leads to speculation (some of it very absurd and imaginative). Then, all of the other people who are bored at work get annoyed about the absurd speculations and Internet e-slapping begins.

I guarantee you that most of us camera nerds stop thinking about most of this crap once we can actually get out and shoot. We'd just rather be shooting than sitting at our crappy desk jobs, so we talk about it online. :angel:

I just got back from finishing up a roll of Fuji Across in 120 in my new to me Fuji GA645zi--black model even, (Paul and Dave it's ALL your fault for taking me to Wing's for the first time). I'll develop it tonight in Reinhold's precisely measured caffenol-c-m and with luck get some images scanned tomorrow night after work. I'm trying to figure out what my remaining budget will allow for a Freestyle order to get more Acros in 120 as well as some of the remaining Legacy Pro 100 in 35mm. I think in the near term film's life is directly related to our film buying budgets, and we all know that many of the film cameras we only dreamt of 10-30 years ago are available at bargain prices if we look long and hard enough. Ah, the old connumdrum, time and money, for most of us that is.

YES.

On last count I had 15 film cameras. The good thing about film dying is that I don't need another one 🙂 At least that's how I keep my GAS in check - for bodies that is. Film is a different story.

If you really believe "film is dead", go ahead and buy some. It's as cheap as never before. If it really will die, you can sell it for a fortune on ebay afterwards. 🙂

Dave: Yeah, after much hemming and hawing I decided what to put on the market, and drove way back up to Wing's. It really was a good deal, $450 including tax, a new set of batteries, a new Hoya UV filter, and a roll of Tri-X thrown in for the bargain (they give everyone a roll when they buy a camera). I have watched them on KEH in the past and I'd hate to see what they'e want for one in the VG-EX condition this one is in. It has the quietest shutter of any camera I've used since that long ago Army M3 we talked about. Proof will be in the images, though. I'll know later tonight. It will be fun to use as we wander little 5 points on the afternoon of the 26th. JW
