I recently got a hold of a lovely 35 DC and I have a question about the Guide number (GN) setting for flash photography.
I understand that when using 100 ASA film, I have to set the GN dial at 14, the guide number for my PS 100 G flash unit at 100 ASA. What do I do when using other film, e.g. 400 ASA? Do I leave the dial at the camera at GN 14 and simply change the film speed setting to 400? Or do I have to change the GN dial as well, to 28 (the GN at 400 ASA)?
So, in other words, does the camera automatically recalculate the GN when I change the ASA setting and am I consequenly supposed to set the GN dial just once: to the GN at 100 ASA?
Thanks for your advice!
